The demand and approach towards IT careers have changed over the years given the advancements that have been made with recent developments.  The information age has given rise to sectors that did not exist in the past by creating professions in the IT field that were once inexistent. Companies now want more efficient solutions that can guarantee both growth and customer satisfaction at the same time.  As a result, careers in IT that involve programming, data sharing, applications, web design, troubleshooting and many others have been redefined.

Qualifications and Experience:

Specific training and academic preparation are necessary to undertake IT careers that are geared towards a specific area.  Experience is a strong deciding factor that many companies will look at to choose candidates before they award a job to a possible employee.  As a result, individuals that want to have a lead in this selection process must ensure that they get the necessary experience and are up-to-date with the latest developments to qualify for careers in IT.  A degree in any of the following is usually necessary to occupy IT careers: physics electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, server management and information systems.  Some additional requirements include
