Charity and Voluntary careers provide a very gratifying experience to those that enjoy assisting people or collaborating with organisations that can provide the necessary assistance. There are numerous organisations across the UK that constantly have vacancies for charity and voluntary jobs. The growth possibilities are also endless given the numerous areas that generally need qualified individuals that are keen on providing charity and voluntary services.

Qualifications and Experience:

The requirements are flexible when it comes to charity and voluntary careers. Some companies do not have any strict outline and usually require that the applicant in question have a natural will and desire to assist and share his/her time with others. However, this is not the case for leadership roles and those that involve a great degree of responsibility. A degree in social sciences, psychology, management, finance, business administration or social work is usually the preferred qualifications among large companies. This, however, will depend on the area in question. GCSE qualifications are accepted by some companies, but this will depend on the role to be undertaken. There are instances in which people with relevant experience in charity & voluntary careers stand a better chance of getting certain roles over those that have academic qualifications, but lack experience.
