The hospitality & catering industry is one that grows from year to year given the high rise in tourist rates in many places throughout the UK.  This demand has boasted the need that many employers have for qualified individuals that are able to interact with clients and undertake the many duties that are unique to the hospitality and catering industry.  The main areas that individuals can look for possible vacancies include: hotels, bed-and-breakfast and cruise industry. There are both long-term and short-term opportunities that are available for those that are interested in hospitality and catering careers.  Some roles require leadership skills, whereas there are those that require basic skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

The qualifications that you need to undertake hospitality and catering careers will depend on the company you plan to work for. Some companies have seasonal opportunities and will provide the necessary training to attend to their immediate needs for staff if there is a high demand.  However, individuals that have prior experience with hospitality and catering careers will usually get first preference.  In these instances, academic accomplishments may not necessarily be the deciding factor that separates one candidate from the other; but a proven track record with hospitality and catering careers.  A degree in business administration, event planning, culinary arts or even a school diploma or GCSEs are the required qualifications being sought by most employers.  Other requirements include
